Charles “David” Whittemore

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend;

Haverhill -- Charles David Whittemore, age 64, a resident of Farmington, NH, passed away at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on Thursday, June 22, 2017.

He was the loving husband of Donna A. (Chute) Whittemore for 25 years, who survives him.

Born in Lowell, MA on May 8, 1953, a son of Patricia (Pushor) Whittemore and the late Charles R. Whittemore, he attended Tewksbury schools and was a graduate of Tewksbury high school in the Class of 1971.

David proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

In a career path that spanned over 35 years, he was a carpenter, chef, driver, general store proprietor, and prior to his retirement, a supervisor at Taylor Rental.

David was a dedicated family man and a lover of the outdoors, animals, humor, music, and nature. His hobbies included fishing, camping, farming, giving advice, imparting wisdom, and spending time with his loving family and friends.

Surviving him along with his wife are six children, Joshua A. Whittemore and his wife Crystal of Manchester, NH, Jared D. Whittemore of Lyndeborough, NH, Justin M. Whittemore and his wife Susan, of Pepperell, MA, Jason S. Whittemore and his wife Kristin of Derry, NH, Robert Chester of Madbury, NH, and Amber R. Sirles and her husband, Eric of Rochester, NH; sixteen grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister Donna Russo and her husband John of Hudson, NH; a brother Donald Whittemore and his wife Denise of Dunstable; nieces Jennifer, Valerie, and Rebecca and their families, and devoted life-long friend Bill Stanley and his wife Amy of Bluemont, VA.
