Helen E. Munson

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt

Helen E. (Doran) Munson, 86, of Pelham, died Thursday, July 27th at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Warren Munson.
Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, November 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Thomas and the late Helen (Doherty) Doran, she attended Pelham schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School. Eager to further her education she then went on to attend the Nashua Secretarial School.
Before retiring, Helen was employed as a secretary with the former Wannalancit Company for many years.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick Church in Pelham.
Among her many interests, Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, bowling, crossword and word search puzzles, the theater and dancing. She was a member of the “Come Alive After Five” dance group. She also loved frequenting Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. However, her greatest joy was the quality time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by a daughter Maureen P. Hennessy and her husband Mark of Camp Hill, PA; a son Matthew K. Munson and his wife Doreen of Hudson, NH; six grandchildren Michael K. Munson and his wife Veronica of Allenstown, NH, Alexander J. Munson and his wife Malea of Nashua, NH, David M. and Christopher P. Munson both of Hudson, NH, Christopher Hennessy and his wife Melissa of Long Island, NY and Gregory Hennessy of Camp Hill, PA; three great-grandchildren Sophia, Nora and Noah Munson; two sisters Joan Towle of Chester, NH and Diane Briand of Hudson, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Thomas Doran.
Friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 Nashua Rd. in Pelham from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service to be celebrated on Tuesday morning in the Funeral home at 11 o’clock. Burial to follow in Gibson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Pelham Food Pantry, St. Patrick Church in Pelham, the Pelham Firefighter’s Association or the Pelham Police Relief Association.
