Karen J. Jones
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend;
Karen J. (Hatch) Jones, 56, of Pelham, NH, died Thursday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of Bernard J. Jones with whom she recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on October 14, 2016.
Born in Gardner, Maine, October 24, 1960, Karen was the daughter of Malcolm A. Hatch, Sr. and the late Helen (Brann) Hatch. Karen attended Bowdoinham, Maine area schools and was a graduate of Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine.
A member of our U.S. military, she served in the U.S. Navy in the 1980’s.
Most recently, Karen was an engineering assistant at Raytheon Corporation in Tewksbury.
Karen had a great love for animals and was a docent/guide for Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon, MA. She also enjoyed photography and crafting but her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband and father she is survived by a son Nicholas R. Jones and his wife Karen of Miami, FL; a daughter Mallory D. Jones of Denton, TX; two grandchildren Emma and Ethan Jones; two sisters Phyllis R. Fales of Cushing, ME and Sandra L. Gregoire and her husband Paul of Kennebunk, ME; a brother Karl Hatch and his partner David Ward of Bath, ME; two step brothers Stephen Hatch and his wife Barbara of Clinton, ME and Malcolm D. Hatch, Jr. and his wife Susan of Marston, Mills, MA; many nieces and nephews; and two very special friends Kayci and Hayden Marchbank of CA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Life Celebration Service which will be celebrated Thursday morning at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM, NH at 11 o’clock.
