Maureen E. “Moe” (Kerrigan) Boyden, 54, of a well-known Pelham family, died unexpectedly Saturday evening at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.



The loving wife of Charles C. Boyden, who survives her, they celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on September 14, 2016.



Maureen was born May 18, 1962, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Thomas J. and the late Phyllis A. (Martel) Kerrigan, attended Hudson (Mass.) schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School, Class of 1980.



She continued her education at Worcester State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and later attained her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology.



In the course of her 30-year career, Maureen worked as a licensed Speech Pathologist, CCC-SLP, in the school districts of Leicester, Grafton, CAPS Collaborative, Gardner, Dracut, Lawrence, Belmont and most recently, Methuen. Certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association, to which she was a member, Maureen had a passion for helping children.



Moe loved going to the beach and playing pool with her friends in a local league. A talented artist, she also enjoyed crafting, painting and time with close friends.



Known to her grandchildren as “Maimeo”, from the Gaelic word for Grandma, she cherished the time spent with them.



Besides her husband, Maureen is survived by three step-children Julie A. Wilkins and her husband Thomas of Pelham, Meghan P. Sirois and her husband Luke of Manchester, NH and Michael C. Boyden and Ariana Mackey of Pelham; four grandchildren Lilly, Emily, Charlie and Elizabeth; three sisters Kathleen Kerrigan of Hudson, MA, Eileen Boudreau and her husband Jeffrey of Fitchburg, and Martha Fulham and her husband Mark of Marlborough; two brothers Thomas J. Kerrigan, Jr. of Hudson, MA and Joseph P. Kerrigan and Monique Lambert also of Hudson, MA; her in-laws Thomas J. Boyden and Kathy Herard, Jane Boyden Arsenault and her husband Michael all of Leominster, Roberta Beyroutey and her husband Frederick of The Villages, FL, William B. Boyden and Vivian Civita, Kathleen Gallant and her husband Stephen, David W. Boyden and his wife Julie, and Kevin F. Boyden and his wife Carmen all of Leominster; and many nieces and nephews.



She was also the sister-in-law of the late Claire Boyden Price and her husband John, who survives her.



Relatives and friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. Her Funeral Mass will take place at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM Friday morning at 11 o’clock. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery. E-condolences/directions at pelhamfuneralhome.com.
