Elizabeth L. “Liz” Rigby

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend;
Elizabeth L. “Liz” (DeWaard) Rigby, 38, of Pelham, New Hampshire, died unexpectedly Tuesday September 17, 2019 at her home.

She was the loving wife of Richard R. Rigby of Pelham, who survives her.

Born in Mason City, Iowa, October 30, 1980, the daughter of Duane and Julie (Gerdes) DeWaard, Liz was a graduate of Bishop Garrigan High School, and as a member of the girls Varsity Basketball team scored over 1000 points in her career.
 
Liz went on to graduate Minnesota State University in 2003 where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

Currently, Liz was working as a Registered Nurse at Pentucket Medical, an Urgent Care facility in Lawrence, MA.

Her passion in life was being a mom.  She found joy in staying home with her daughter and experiencing each new milestone right along with her.  She was a consummate care giver and was always thinking of others.  She loved to travel to experience God's creation.

Before becoming a wife and a mother, Liz found her calling working as a nurse. Although she worked in hospitals all over the country, she thrived in the Emergency Room of a Trauma One hospital in Tucson, Arizona. There her ability to be calm under pressure as well as other God given abilities allowed her to excel in her field.

Besides her husband and parents, Liz is survived by a daughter Katie R. Rigby of Pelham; a sister Emily Lewis and her husband Matthew of Byron, Minnesota; a brother Benjamin DeWaard and his wife Melissa of Lincoln, Nebraska; her in laws and several nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Lucas DeWaard who died in 2011.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Service and Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the CROSSROADS CHURCH 43 ATWOOD RD in PELHAM at 1:00 o’clock.
