Joseph E. Lemieux

World War II Air Force Veteran

Joseph E. Lemieux, 88, of Windham, died Monday, July 10th at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. He was the beloved husband of Ellen T. (Murray) (Wilson) Lemieux who survives him and with whom he recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on May 31st of this year.
Born in Everett, Massachusetts, March 12, 1929, a son of the late Lauriat and the late Jean (McKinney) Lemieux, he attended St. Joseph Grammar School and was a graduate of Everett High School in the Class of 1946. Eager to further his education, he went on to attend Boston University and then earn a B.A. in Business Administration from Hillyer College (now known as Hartford University) and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
A veteran of World War II, Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force where he trained for and became an airplane and engine mechanic specialist and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
Among his many interests, Joe enjoyed fishing and reading and was an avid sports fan, particularly of the New England Patriots. He was a member of the American Legion Post #100 in Pelham.
Joe is survived by six sons Edmond J. Lemieux of Fayetteville, NC, Marc S. Lemieux and his wife Donna of Las Vegas, NV, Paul D. Lemieux and his wife Lyn-Anne of Salem, MA, Daniel J. Wilson of Somerville, MA, Dennis P. Wilson of Chapel Hill, SC and David M. Wilson and his fiancée Mali Cooper of Cambridge, MA; two daughters Donna Walles and her husband Bob of Merrimack, NH and Diane Cuddemi and her husband Michael of Plymouth, MA; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters Marie A. Woods of Merrimack, NH and Ellen G. Van Cura and her husband Frank of Sunapee, NH; two brothers James L. Lemieux of Wakefield, MA and Donald G. Lemieux and his wife Carol of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 Nashua Rd. in Pelham form 2 to 6 on Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be held on Monday at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Pelham at 10 o’clock. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Committal Services will be held privately. E-Condolences/Directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
