Pauline A. Tardiff

Loving companion, mother, grandmother and sister

Pauline A. (Croteau) Tardiff, 75, of Pelham, died Tuesday, October 31st at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved longtime companion of Richard Aucoin who survives her.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, September 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Roland and the late Irene (Lemay) Croteau, she attended Lawrence schools and was a graduate of St. Anne’s High School with the Class 1959.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Pelham for many years.
Before retiring, Pauline was employed as a Check Writer in the Claims Department for the Andover Insurance Company for over 25 years.
Pauline never failed to make it clear how special each of her family members and friends were to her, whether that meant kissing them on the forehead or simply telling them that she was proud. Working to plant mums in her yard and brushing her beloved cat, Leo, were two of her favorite hobbies, but nothing made her happier than being surrounded by the people she loved. Not a day went by that she didn’t laugh or tell a joke, even if she was laughing at herself—this made her the life and center of every family birthday party, holiday, and summertime trip to the beach for good lobster rolls or curly fries from Skip’s. She will always be remembered as a woman of effortless grace, kindness, compassion, humor, and style who could brighten any room. All who knew her admired her and felt loved in her radiant presence, a presence so strong that it will continue to live in our hearts even in her absence.
In addition to her companion Richard, Pauline is survived by two daughters Linda M. Levesque and her husband Kevin of Pelham, NH and Patricia A. Devine and her companion Marc Elie of Auburn, MA; two sons Michael A. Tardiff and his wife Christine of Derry, NH and Ronald P. Tardiff and his wife Kimberly of Haverhill, MA; seven grandchildren Derek Levesque of Pelham, NH, Jeffrey Levesque of Lowell, MA, Christopher Devine of Malden, MA, John Devine of Woodstock, CT, Noelle and Sean Tardiff both of Derry, NH and Jason Belmer of Dover, NH; and a brother Roland “Pete” Croteau of Pelham, NH.

PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM at 11 o’clock. Burial will follow in the Gibson Cemetery. E-condolences/directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
