Richard A. Giordano, 84, of Pelham but formerly of Newton and Watertown, MA, and husband of Mary Lou (Franciosi) Gostan – Giordano, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday October 28, 2018 with his family by his side.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts, February 4, 1934, a son of the late Salvatore and the late Mary (Yerardi) Giordano, he attended Newton schools and was a graduate Newton North High School.
He went on to attend Boston University where he received his BA Degree in Communications in 1961.
Richard proudly served his country during Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
He worked for over 30 years for the Comm. of Massachusetts, first with the Unemployment Division and later as an inspector with Dept. of Agriculture until his retirement.
However, Richard’s true passion was his music and he freelanced as a Jazz pianist in the Boston area for many years.
Besides his wife his survivors include a son Michael R. Giordano of Waltham, 3 step-children John A. Gostan and wife Lucymay of Orange, Nancy Branco of Hudson, NH and Linda Gelardi of Clinton, MA; 8 grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother Frederick Giordano and wife Joan of Wayland; and several nieces and nephews.
