Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather;
Albert M. “Al” Sutcliffe, 84, a longtime resident of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Annette (Belanger) Sutcliffe with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on January 1, 1941, he was a son of the late Albert and Irene (Lannon) Sutcliffe. Al was educated in the Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
For over thirty years, Al worked as a pressman for the former Courier Citizen Corporation in Lowell and held similar positions at the Lowell Sun and Sullivan Brothers Printing. He was an Honorary Member in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters M600, Graphic Communications Conference.
Al had many interests and hobbies. He loved being involved in sports, and was an avid swimmer and golfer. He could frequently be found on the 19th hole at Green Meadow golf course on weekends with his good friends and family, where he achieved a hole in one. Al bowled with the Courier Citizen bowling league and enjoyed watching and playing sports with his children. Al was a lifelong member of the East End Club where he bartended and frequently played in the Club’s Golf tournament winning the Club Championship in 2015. He was also a member of the Dom Polski Club in Lowell.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife Marianne Sutcliffe of Chicago IL, and Brian and his wife Cynthia Sutcliffe of Pelham NH; two daughters, Karen Laforge of Tyngsboro MA, and Corinne and her husband Joseph Martin of Auburn NH; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, among whom was Karlene Katsaros.
Al was the brother of the late Jerry Sutcliffe, father-in-Law of the late Edward Laforge, and dear friend of the late George Katsaros.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hours on Friday May 16, 2025 at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 NASHUA RD in PELHAM from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon.
