Armand H. April
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend;
Armand H. April, family patriarch, storyteller extraordinaire, and river to his people, has passed on to the next chapter. He prospered in life, loved his wife, and helped to raise some awesome kids. Oh, he turned into a softie as a grandfather too.
Before we even get started here, he loved his wife of 54 years, Judith Ann (Pard) April, more than anything, and she’s a saint, literally. Greatest love story ever.
Born Armand Henry April on May 14, 1947, to the late Charles April and Marie Rose (Pare) April in Lowell, MA, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Keith Academy, Class of 1965.
He was a provider in life. Not one to work for another boss, Armand ran his own sheet metal businesses from early on. Quality Metals, then April Industries. He was innovative and successful in his entrepreneurship. He also kept busy when not at work. For years he was an avid jogger and golfer (lots of golf). He loved cars too, especially Porsches, and imparted to his grandchildren the love of simple things like playing card games or chess. He tried fishing enthusiastically; the fish did not cooperate.
Armand was loved by all. He possessed a big, bold personality, generous spirit, and love of all things sports (with just a tiny bias toward Boston teams). He even coached youth soccer when his son Dan was young. Think Bill Belichick trying to corral six-year-olds staring at their feet on the field.
Besides his wife Judy, he is survived by his children, Carolyn Ann April (David Straka) of Brookline, NH; Cathleen Ann April Sandoval (Frank Sandoval) of San Antonio, TX; and Daniel Henry April (Sara April) of Santa Fe, NM; as well as six grandchildren, Marissa, Olivia, Nicholas, Grace, Adam, and Nathan; He is also survived by five siblings Lucille Martinelli of FL, Denise April (Joshua Robey) of Hollis, NH, Susan April (Barry Brown) of Frederick, MD, Charles H. April, Jr. (Dawn Donacki - April) of Brookline, NH and Joseph E. April (Monica) of West Boylston; his sister-in-law Rosemary (Pard) Britt of Nashua, NH, her two children, Meghan Britt (Nicholas Giannotti) of Alexandria, VA and Matthew Britt (Erin) of Norfolk, MA and many nieces and nephews.
