Barbara J. (Silva) (Cope) Baril

Beloved mother, stepmother, grandmother and great grandmother;

Barbara J. (Silva)(Cope) Baril, age 87, of Selbyville, Delaware, formerly of Pelham, NH passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Brandywine Assisted Living in Selbyville, DE.

She was born in Lexington, MA on July 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Augustus Silva and the late Lillian Frances (Sears) Silva.  Barbara retired from the Mitre Corporation in the personnel department.  

Nothing made Barbara happier than talking about her three boys.  She loved being around her family and her beloved dog, Kipper. Her family and friends endearingly referred to her as Nana or Nana Banana. Nana will be remembered for her unending kindness, her great sense of humor and her love of a good joke!  She also enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing, playing bingo, completing sudoku puzzles and watching the Game Show Network.  

Barbara is survived by her three sons, Wayne Cope and his wife, Susanne, Steve Cope and his wife, Beth and John Cope and his wife, Wendy and a stepdaughter, Liz Reddish and her husband, Bob.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jennifer Metevier and her husband, Seth, Jeffrey Cope, David Cope and Crissy Gray and her husband, Kyle and William Cope; three step grandchildren, Robert J. Reddish, Sharyn Mosher and Lindsay Henderson; nine great grandchildren, Corah, Reese, Kaleb, Mikayla, Shane, Tyler, Hayleigh, Teagan, Bryson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Cope; her second husband, James Baril and her five siblings.    

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at ST. PATRICK CHURCH, 12 Main St., Pelham, NH at 11 o’clock.  Interment will follow at the Gibson Cemetery. E-condolences at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
