Carol Florence Buonarosa

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt;

Carol (Hogan) Buonarosa, 88, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Mary Immaculate Health Care Services in Lawrence, Massachusetts surrounded by her loving family.

She was the devoted wife of Dominic Joseph Buonarosa, Jr. who predeceased her on March 14, 2024.

Born in Stoneham, MA, on September 16, 1936, to the late James E. and the late Margorie G. (Mills) Hogan, Carol attended schools in Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School in the class of 1954. She then attended Tewksbury State Nursing School in Tewksbury, MA, where she received her LPN Degree and became an oncology nurse at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA.

After leaving nursing, Carol worked for much of her life as a real estate broker with Realty World in Pelham, NH, and also worked as an agent for ERA Real Estate in Pelham. After retiring, one of her favorite activities was going out for lunch with her three sisters.

Carol was a talented artisan in both the kitchen and craft room. Her cooking was exceptional, filling every gathering with warmth and the aroma of her homemade dishes. A gifted seamstress, she poured love into every stitch, creating beautiful quilts, intricate embroidery, and hand-knit treasures that her family cherishes.

She is survived by a daughter, Lauralee Zahareas of Methuen, MA; five grandchildren, Shawn Buonarosa and his wife Fernanda of Pelham, NH, Jill Fletcher and her husband Kyle of Londonderry, NH, Stephanie Zahareas of New Orleans, LA, Molly Zahareas of Bradford, MA, and James Zahareas of Methuen, MA; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Patty Fletcher of Andover, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Michael A. Buonarosa, Peter E. Buonarosa, and Dominic J. Buonarosa, III, and the sister of the late Jacqueline Mustone and Lorraine Dunnett.
