FLAGLER BEACH, F.L.  - Cheryl Beatrice (LeDuc) Rossi, age 81, a resident of Flagler Beach, a former resident of Pelham, New Hampshire and Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on March 2, 2022. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Rossi.

Born in Lowell, MA on July 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Marie L. (Achin) LeDuc.

Survivors include her four children, Richard A. and his wife, Leanne Rossi of Palm Coast, Florida; Elizabeth A. Rossi of Daytona Beach, Florida; Steven A. and his wife Lucille Rossi of Pelham, New Hampshire; Martha A. (Rossi) and her husband Matthew Kupka of Chester, New Jersey; nine grandchildren, Craig, Chadd, Brittany, Jillian, Troy and Gavin Rossi, Lindsay, Abigail and Alexa Kupka; three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Madison and Braydon Rossi; a sister, Janet Rocheville of Duncan, South Carolina; and a brother, Paul Leduc of Connecticut.

She was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1957, where she was active as a Girl Officer, member of the yearbook committee, participant in several clubs and straight A student. As a young professional she worked in the renowned Lahey Eye Clinic and Medical Center.  

Cheryl married her high school sweetheart, Richard “Dick” Rossi on October 12, 1959. They lived in Pelham, NH for the next 35 years, where they raised their four children. Cheryl was elected Pelham’s Tax Collector in 1970 and served for 23 years. She served as the President of the NH Tax Collector’s Association from 1973-75. Cheryl was also elected to the position of Town Clerk in Pelham and served the town in this dual role from 1976-1993.

Cheryl was an avid historian and genealogist. She enthusiastically travelled the world tracing her family tree and recently was inducted into the Daughters of the American Revolution, Old Kings Highway Chapter. She was a member for many years in the Genealogy Society of Flagler County as well a founding member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society.

For many years Cheryl, Dick and the children spent summers at the family camp on Arlington Pond in Salem, New Hampshire.  As a retiree in Flagler Beach, FL she loved to spend days at the beach. She was always an enthusiast of the water and boating.

In fact, Cheryl and Dick’s love story began with a chance meeting in the middle of a lake when she was in a rowboat and he in his new speed boat.

She was a member of the Sunshine Club of Flagler County and spent many hours with her beloved friends playing Mexican Train and Mahjong. She loved to bake and her children and grandchildren especially loved her cookies and Congo bars.

Cheryl was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a true friend and adored by all who knew her. She was beautiful inside and out, generous and kind.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Chery’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday March 14, 2022, at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM at 10 o’clock followed by her burial in the Gibson Cemetery in Pelham.
