Dennis Dias Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, Dennis P. Dias of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dennis was the loving and devoted husband of Patricia (Reilly) Dias, with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, dedication, and love.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on August 31, 1945, Dennis was the son of the late John Dias and the late Adelina (Costa) Dias. He attended Lowell High School, East Coast Aerotech, and the School of Aeronautics in New York, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.

For more than 45 years, Dennis dedicated his professional life to aviation, serving as a line mechanic, technician, crew chief, foreman, and later the Northeast Regional Manager Aircraft Maintenance/Recovery Team Leader for American Airlines, Northeast region, covering areas from Boston to Raleigh‑Durham. His career was marked by a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Dennis was a passionate car enthusiast, outdoorsman, and restoration craftsman, finding great joy in bringing new life to classic vehicles—especially through the careful restoration work he enjoyed in his garage. He was a proud member of several organizations, including the Pelham Fish and Game, Camaro Club, and Tyrod’s Club.

He was also deeply involved in his community, coaching baseball, basketball, and soccer, and was instrumental in maintaining the town’s athletic fields before the town assumed responsibility for their upkeep. His quiet service and hands‑on dedication left a lasting impact on countless families and young athletes.

In addition to his wife Patricia, Dennis is survived by his son, Jonathan E. Dias of Salem, New Hampshire; his three cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel Dias, Jacob Dias, and Emma Dias; and his nephew, Todd Twarog of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his sister, Deanna Twarog of Lowell, Massachusetts.
