Doris A. Houle
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend;
Doris A. (Plummer) Houle, 77, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Friday December 4, 2020 at home.
She was the loving wife of the late Robert A. Houle who died July 4, 1972 due to combat related cancer from his Army service in Vietnam.
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, February 27, 1943, the daughter of the late Bertha (LaPlume) Plummer, she received her education at St. Patrick’s School in Lawrence, Ma. Her and her sister Lorraine’s brother Joseph LaPlume passed away at age seventeen.
She worked at Vulcan, an injection mold factory, where she met her future husband and married on October 28th 1968. She worked for many years at Hannaford (formerly Victory) Supermarket in the deli and afterwords was a cashier.
An active member of the Pelham and Dracut Senior Citizens Centers, Doris enjoyed crocheting and Bingo. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Pelham and their Women’s Guild.
However, her greatest joy was when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda A. Seniow and her husband Thomas of Windham, NH; her son Robert A. Houle, Jr. of Barre, VT; three grandchildren; Joseph V. Zannoni, Jr. of Windham, NH, Sarah A. Zannoni of Nashua, NH and Lt. Shawn R. Houle - 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, NY and his wife Sonja; a sister Lorraine Martin and her husband Robert of Andover, Ma; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD Pelham, NH on Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. (All state required social distancing procedures will be observed including the wearing of masks upon entrance into the Funeral Home). Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service which will be held on Friday December 11, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 12 Haverhill Road, Amesbury, Ma at 1 o’clock.
