Elaine D. Ficarra
Nashua, NH - Elaine D. (Brown) Ficarra, 88, of Nashua, NH formerly of Dracut, Lowell and Stoneham, MA, passed away peacefully in her home Friday, December 3rd, surrounded by her loving family and her extended Langdon Place of Nashua family.
She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Ficarra, a WWII veteran.
Born in Lynn, MA on June 23rd, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Estella (Blauvelt) Brown and the late Philip Brown. Elaine was educated in the Lynn school system and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1951. She furthered her education at the Comptometer School in Boston and graduated in 1954. Later in life, Elaine also completed several adult education courses at Rivier College in Nashua, NH for her enjoyment.
Elaine worked as an administrative assistant at various companies including General Electric in Lynn, MA where she met her husband. After her children were grown, she worked in retail at Caldor Department Store for several years in Stoneham, MA.
Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended her grandchildren’s activities including dance recitals, cheerleading competitions, hockey and baseball games. She made every effort to support them in all that they did. She loved socializing, sewing, reading books, working on puzzles and watching Patriots games in support of her granddaughter. She also volunteered her time with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, as well as the Dracut Senior Center.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Stoneham, MA and the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church in North Chelmsford, MA.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Edward J. Ficarra and wife Diane, of E. Hampstead, NH; Lawrence M. Ficarra and wife Nancy, of Billerica, MA; her daughter, Karen E. (Ficarra) Manelas and husband John, of Pelham, NH; 6 grandchildren, Timothy Ficarra and wife Desiree, Lynn (Ficarra) Ward and husband Brendan, Emily (Ficarra) Michalik and husband Joseph, Nicole (Manelas) White and husband Ryan, Rachel Manelas and Jared Manelas; 4 great grandchildren, Finnegan Ficarra, Corianna Michalik, Marceline Ficarra and Everett Michalik.
Sadly, Elaine was predeceased by her son Richard J. Ficarra.

Friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM Thursday evening December 9, 2021, from 5 to 8 P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday morning at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM at 10 o’clock followed by her burial at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd. in Londonderry, NH. E-condolences/directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
