Emma Mae (Jervah) Bergeron

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Emma Mae Bergeron of Pelham, New Hampshire on June 6, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Emma departed this world surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Born on February 12, 1948, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Emma grew up in the city and attended Lowell public schools. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jean-Guy Bergeron Sr. The two were married on March 20, 1971, embarking on a beautiful 55-year journey filled with mutual respect, joy, and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Together, Emma and Jean-Guy built a remarkable life and business partnership. For over 50 years, they owned and operated Jean-Guy’s Used Cars and Parts, Inc. in Pelham, New Hampshire. As partners, they transformed the business into a thriving, multigenerational family legacy, instilling a deep work ethic, dedication, and a spirit of community support into their children and grandchildren.

Emma lived a life defined by her devotion to family, her infectious laugh, and her generous spirit. She was the heart and soul of her home. As a mother, she was a constant source of strength, a cheerleader, confidante, and role model for her children: Jean-Guy Jr., Pat, Joy, Beau, and Jaie. As the doting, fun-loving matriarch to her grandchildren, she jumped at every opportunity to spoil them, share stories, and host holiday celebrations. She was also a cherished sister to 13 siblings and a loyal, wise friend to many.

Beyond her family, Emma was a trailblazer and a dedicated civic leader. She broke barriers as the first woman President of the Pelham Lions Club and served as the treasurer for the Pelham Good Neighbor Fund, always striving to be an exceptional fiduciary and advocate for the town of Pelham. Generosity was one of her greatest attributes; she possessed an innate need to give back to her community and lift up the less fortunate.

Emma had a rare gift for making ordinary days unforgettable and turning friends into family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her quiet strength, big heart, and unforgettable laughter. Emma brought an undeniable spark into every room she entered. Known for her radiant optimism and a genuinely sparkling personality, she had a rare ability to lift the spirits of anyone in her presence. Even when faced with life's hardest battles, Emma approached every day with an unbreakable determination to fight, refusing to let circumstances dim her joyful outlook. Above all, Emma lived life with an open heart, showing a profound care for others that was felt deeply by family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to cross their path.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jean-Guy Bergeron Sr. of Pelham, New Hampshire; her children, Jean-Guy Bergeron Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire, Pat Bergeron and his wife Jennifer of Hudson, New Hampshire, Joy Bowlan and her husband Bill of Pelham, New Hampshire, Beau Bergeron of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Jaie Bergeron and his wife Demetra of Pelham, New Hampshire; her adored grandchildren: Sierra Carbonneau and her husband Griffin, Joe Bergeron, Abrial Bergeron, Alex Bergeron, Shyann Bergeron, Nathan Bowlan, Kyle Bowlan, Justin Bowlan, Emma Bowlan, Penelope Bergeron, and Charlie Bergeron. She also leaves behind numerous treasured siblings, and many cherished nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Emma’s life on Friday, June 12, 2026, at PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 NASHUA RD., PELHAM, NH from 4 to 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Committal Service to be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Gibson Cemetery at 11 A.M. E-condolences and directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
