Florence T. (Makarewicz) Marchand

Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister;

Florence T. "Florie" (Makarewicz) Marchand, 95, of Pelham, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Sunday May 11, 2025, at the Inn at Fairview in Hudson, NH.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Marchand who died in 2002.

Born on March 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Emilian and the late Dominika (Sawicka) Makarewicz, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1948. Florence went on to attend Lowell Commercial College.

Prior to her retirement, Florie was a data entry operator for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, where she worked for over 20 years.

Florie was always active and highly competitive throughout her life. She loved to challenge everyone at just about any game or activity, especially her grand and great grand children who lit up her life.  

She loved family, animals, music and dancing.  A woman of many interests, she enjoyed tennis, word search, puzzles, baking, coloring, arts and crafts, quilting, sewing, flower gardening, the beach and going on adventures.

In addition, she was a member of the Pelham Council on Aging and was active with the Hobbs Community Center in Pelham.

Florence is survived by 3 daughters Debra Marchand of Winter Garden, FL, Cynthia Marchand Fournier and her husband Daniel of Pelham, NH and Caroline Letendre and her husband Al of Gruetli Laager, TN; nine grandchildren Shaun Marchand and his wife Kate of Winter Park, FL, Mark Hoppler of Winter, Garden, FL, Bridgette Pimenta and her husband Jarrett of Goffstown, NH, Monique Berky and her husband T.J. of Portsmouth, NH, Simone Khan and her husband Sean of Hudson, NH, Joshua  Letendre and his wife Melody of Holiday, FL, Andrew Letendre of Gruetli Laager, TN, Zachary Letendre and his wife Haileigh of Powell, TX, Jessica Letendre of Pelham; nine great grandchildren Quincy, Zachary, Theo, Lina, Liam, Oliver, Quintin, Finley, and Jocelynn; her brother Frank Makarewicz  of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Visitation to be held on Wednesday morning May 28, 2025, at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are then invited to her Funeral Mass to be celebrated later that morning at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM  at 11:00 o'clock.
