Obituary

Francis P. “Frank” Croteau, Sr.

Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend;

Francis P. “Frank” Croteau, Sr. 77, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away Sunday morning September 3, 2023, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine M. (Paladino) Croteau, who died July 16, 2015.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, December 3, 1945, the son of the late Romeo and the late Rita (Gendron) Croteau, he received his education in the Pelham school system and Lowell High School.

Frank worked various jobs over the years but retired as a plumber’s helper for R & R Plumbing in Pelham.

Affectionately known by many in town as “The Can Man”, Frank had a passion for collecting cans which helped keep the beauty of the community and protect the environment.

He loved to sit and greet his neighbors with his infectious laughter and warms smiles, most likely with an extra-large Dunkin Donuts coffee in hand!

In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, and a good game of 45s. He was a former member of the of St. Patrick Men’s Club, the Pelham Snow Mobile Club and the Good Neighbor Fund. However, his greatest joy was being with his family.

Frank was blessed with his own “3 Ring Circus”, his loving children, two daughters Sandra Croteau of Merrimac, MA and Justine Glynn and her husband William of Rowley, MA; his son Francis P. “Frankie” Croteau, Jr. and his wife Lindsay of Candia, NH; seven grandchildren Trevor Simms, Kyle Simms, Kaleb Croteau, Damien Croteau, Jax Voisine, Billy Glynn , Sara Glynn; eight siblings Lorraine Distefano and her partner Richard White of Wakefield, Carol Gacek and her husband Edward of Pelham, Romeo Croteau and his wife Jane of Pelham, Cordelia Rondeau of Methuen, Germaine Roma, Raymond Croteau and his wife Sharon, Gerard Croteau and his wife Elizabeth and Arthur Croteau all of Pelham; two sisters-in-law; Gloria Corbett and her husband Gerald of Pelham; and Judy Paladino of Hudson, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dear companion Linda Bernier of Hudson, NH.
