Frank A. Straughan
Proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps;
Frank A. Straughan, 85, of Lowell but formerly of Pelham, NH passed away peacefully Friday May 1, 2020 at a local nursing home.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, September 6, 1934, a son of the late Jesse B. and the late Aurore (LaMarche) Straughan, he received his education in the Pelham school system.
A veteran of the Korean War, Frank proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Prior to is retirement, he was mechanic for oil machinery at the former K & K Equipment in Dracut.
Frank enjoyed hiking, camping and long Sunday drives. A devout Catholic, he was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. He was also a member of the Pelham American Legion Post 100.
He is survived by his three daughters Barbara J. Houston of Pelham, Debra M. Seavey of Pelham and Nancy A. Curtis and her husband Andrew of Salem, NH; a son Frank A. Straughan Jr. of Pelham; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother Steve Straughan of Pelham; a sister Mary Bedard of Rye, NH; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife Carol (Jones) (Straughan) St. Onge of Pelham.
In light of the Covid 19 crisis and federal and state restrictions a private Funeral Service was held for the family. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced.
