George “Buddy” Conrad
Of Lawrence and Andover;
George “Buddy” Conrad, 71, of Andover but formerly of Lawrence, died at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, Massachusetts on Sunday October 13, 2019 from lung cancer which was spreading and causing repeated bouts with pneumonia during these past few months.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on May 25, 1948, a son of the late Michael J. and the late Genevieve C. (Gamble) Conrad, he attended St. Patrick Grammar School and Lawrence High School.
A retired independent truck driver, he worked in the transportation industry for many years. He was a regular at the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program and enjoyed his ham radio. He had a way with animals having parrots, dogs, cats, and any animal or bird that was in need of help.
Buddy was an almost original Greenlander -- spending his first 18 summers on Acorn Road in Hampton, NH.
He is survived by his older brother David Conrad and his wife Vilma of Pinellas Park, FL the Geddes family; many nieces and nephews; and his former sister in law Rachel Conrad of Lawrence who also helped serve as a primary care giver.
Buddy was predeceased by his older sister, Beth Geddes and his younger brother, Donald Conrad.
A private service was already held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pelham, New Hampshire.
