George F. “Gipper” Garland
Beloved Husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle;
George F. “Gipper” Garland, 78, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
He was the loving husband of Janellen P. (Lessard) Garland, of Pelham, NH, who survives him.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on February 11, 1944, the son of the late Franklin and the late Rhoda (Richardson) Garland, he was a graduate of Dracut High school in the class of 1963.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Prior to his retirement, George worked as a Machinist for Pelham Machine and Tool for over 30 years. In addition, he was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Town of Pelham for over 50 years and also served as Deputy Fire Chief.
A selfless helper to all, Gipper enjoyed reading, fishing, was a member of the NRA. He was also a longtime member of the Pelham American Legion Post 100.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Lizbeth Cline and her husband Robert of Corpus Christi, Texas and Audra Garland of Pelham, NH; a son Robert F. Garland and his wife Sylvia of Pelham, NH; four grandchildren Loribeth Ahlers, Rhianna Stringer and her husband Cade, Benjamin Garland, and Derek Gioia; two great grandchildren Lilah Holley and Abigail Alhers ; a sister Freida Atwood of Titusville, Florida; a brother Frank Garland and his wife Gwen of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Benjamin W. Garland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Visitation to be held Thursday November 3, 2022, at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM from 2 to 4 P.M.
