Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend;

Georgia (Gazes) Atwood, R.N., 84, of Pelham, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning January 29, 2019 at the Grace House of Windham, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Daniel S. Atwood, Jr., her husband for nearly 61 years, whom survives her.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 9, 1934, a daughter of the late Athanasios and the late Paraskevi (Pergaki) Gazes, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1952. She went on to graduate from Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955.

A Registered Nurse for over 40 years, Georgia worked for most of her career at Lowell General Hospital in their maternity department and Prenatal Clinic until her retirement in 1996.

Georgia was active with the Pelham Senior Citizen Center and was a former member of the Red Hat Society. However, her most joyful times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters Deborah Grace and her husband Richard of Wilmot, NH and Pamela Ciaramitaro and her husband Anthony of Hampton, NH; four grandchildren Heather Mather and her husband Olin of Niskayuna, NY, Ashley Foutz and her husband Peter of Williston, VT, Jason Ciaramitaro and his girlfriend Kaitlin Kennedy of Salem, NH and Brandon Ciaramitaro of Somerville, MA; three sisters Rose Bodrog of Florence, NJ, Maria Wolfenden of Derry, NH and Ann Donahue of Keene, NH; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Emily Finneral.
