Herbert H. “Herb” Atwood, Sr.

Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend;

 Herbert H. “Herb” Atwood, Sr., 80, a well-known resident of Pelham, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 14, 2020 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.

He was the loving husband of the late Catherine N. (Atwood) Atwood.
Born in New London, CT, November 12, 1939, a son of the late Daniel S. and the late Kathleen (Hunt) Atwood, he attended Pelham schools and was a graduate of Alvrine High School in Hudson, NH.

Prior to his retirement, Herb was an installer at Overhead Doors in Danvers, MA where he worked for over 50 years. In addition, he served as a volunteer Fireman in Pelham for many years.

A skilled craftsman, Herb enjoyed woodworking and furniture building for his family. He loved working around the house and driving his tractor. However, his most treasured moments were when he was with his children and grandchildren.

Herb is survived by a son Herbert H. Atwood, Jr. and his wife Laureen of Londonderry, NH and his three daughters Penny M. Wrenn and her husband Kevin of Haverhill, Patricia N. Mailhiot and her husband Thomas of Litchfield, NH and Carrie E. Chiasson and her husband Mark of Merrimack, NH; nine grandchildren Tyler, Devon, David, Emily, Julie, Brian, Jessica, Zach and Colby; a great granddaughter Chloe Marie; a brother Daniel Atwood, Jr. of Pelham; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Eileen (Atwood) Robinson.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, the family held Private Funeral Services with burial in the Gibson Cemetery in Pelham, NH. E-condolences at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
