James H. O'Connor-Smith

Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend.
 
James H. O'Connor-Smith, 19, of Pelham, New Hampshire, died unexpectedly as the result of an automobile accident, on Thursday November 13, 2025, in Pelham.
 
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 15, 2006, he was the loving son of Crystalynn M. (Byrne) Smith and best friend to his father Ryan P. Smith, he attended Pelham schools and was a graduate of Pelham High School in Class of 2024.
 
Currently, James was working as a landscaper with Outdoor Pride and with Newport Construction.
 
A car enthusiast, James played football at Pelham High School and was a player, coach and referee for many years in the New Hampshire Flag Football League.
 
James’s greatest accomplishment was his role as big brother and was so proud to be part of his little brother’s life.
 
James’ beautiful blue eyes and smile lit up a room, and his curly hair entered the room first. His infectious personality will live on.
 
James is survived by his mother Crystalynn M. (Byrne) Smith and her fiancé Joseph R. Sullivan of Pelham, his father Ryan P. Smith of Pelham; two brothers Jaxson Smith  of Pelham and Gunnar Smith of Plaistow and his mother Emma Burke; his maternal grandparents Gail McAnistan Nappo and her husband Anthony of Laconia and Stephen Byrne and his wife Vinnie-Jean (D'Agata) Byrne of Pelham; paternal grandmother Gail Connors and Robert Smith of Pelham; his uncles Ryan Byrne and his wife Jessica of Milford, NH and Stephen Byrne and his wife Ashton of Powell, TN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.
 
A vigil has been organized by his brother on Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00 PM at the Lions Field in Pelham, NH.  All are welcome.
 
Friends may call on Thursday November 20, 2025, at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM from 3 to 7 P.M. His Funeral will be celebrated Friday morning November 21, 2025, at ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH in PELHAM at 11 o'clock. (Please Meet at Church). Private Committal services will be held for the family at a later date. E-condolences/directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
