Jane M (Sullivan) Furtado

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt;

Jane M. (Sullivan) Furtado, 83, of Windham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Monday October 23, 2023.

She was the loving wife of Robert E. Furtado of Windham, NH for over 63 years. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 17, 1940, the daughter of the late Paul and Evelyn (Mathews) Sullivan, she attended St. Margaret's School in Lowell, MA, and graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, MA, class of 1957.

Jane was an avid traveler going on cruises all over the world, annual trips to Aruba, multiple visits to Disney World, and wintering in Florida with Bob.  She was passionate Red Sox and Patriots fan and supporter of her children and grand-children’s activities.  She enjoyed helping with the Boy Scouts for over 25 years as a Cub Scout den leader and a merit badge counselor. She was an active member of the Catholic Church, teaching many CCD classes and participating in the Blessed Virgin Sodality at St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell, MA, and daily praying of the rosary.

Besides her loving husband, Jane is survived by her brother Robert Sullivan of Chelmsford, MA,  a daughter: Karen Furtado (Mary) of Windham, NH; six sons Robert Furtado, Jr. (Carol) of Purcellville, Virginia, Paul Furtado (Lori) of Stratham, NH, Mark Furtado (LyndaLea) of Fairfax , VA, David Furtado (Maura) of Windham, NH, Brian Furtado of Windham, NH, and Peter Furtado (Kate) of Hampton, NH; fifteen grandchildren Matthew (Bethany Gordon), Jeffrey, Rob, Jennifer, Melissa, Stephen, Sarah, Thomas, Margaret, Patrick, Brendon, John, Amber, Elizabeth, and Peter; two great-grandsons Harrison and Nolan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH, on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. A reception and receiving line will follow at the church hall. Interment will be private at a later date at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell, MA.
