John H. Donovan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, John H. Donovan, 78, formerly of Arlington, MA, and more recently of Pelham, NH passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 with his loving family by his side at Lahey Hospital Medical Center in Burlington, MA. He was the loving husband for over 56 years of Maureen P. (Holland) Donovan, who survives him. Born in Boston, MA on January 6, 1944, the son of the late Frederick and the late Mary (Quinn) Donovan, he attended Charlestown schools and a graduate of Charlestown High School. Prior to his recent retirement, John was Director of Transportation at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he worked for over 58 years. He had several enjoyments in life such as deep-sea fishing, cooking and traveling.  A Past Exalted Ruler of the Arlington Lodge of Elks in Arlington, MA, he was also a long-time Shriner and volunteer at the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Boston. John was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Harvard University Credit Union. Besides his wife, John is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Galeotalanza and her husband John of Pelham, NH. and Patricia A. Hyder and her fiancé Shawn O'Dwyer of Pelham, NH; four grandchildren, Shannon Galeotalanza and her fiancé James Midgley of Hudson, NH; Kayleigh Hyder, John Galeotalanza and Cameron Hyder all of Pelham, NH. and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.  Relatives and friends may call at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 11 NASHUA ROAD in PELHAM on Thursday, October 27th from 4 to 7 PM, and to attend John’s funeral Mass on Friday, October 28th at 10 o'clock at ST.
