Judith Reardon Obituary

Judith Reardon

Beloved Mother and Grandmother,

Judith W. (Crosby) Reardon, 81, a resident of Dracut, died May 5, 2024 following a long illness.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura A. Kelly and her husband Stephen B. Kelly Jr. of Canterbury, N.H. and Amy L. L'heureux of Pelham, N.H.; three grandchildren Kaitlyn C. Reardon, Timothy H. L'heureux and Mark P. L'heureux all of Pelham, N.H. She was the sister of the late Sarah M. Gardner of San Pedro, CA.

Born in Wakefield, MA, June 28, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Stephen P. and Mildred (Wells) Crosby. Judy grew up in Wakefield, MA where she attended and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1961. Several years after high school, Judy met and married her husband Patrick. They were married in 1968 and moved to North Reading  where she became a housewife and gave birth to their two daughters; Laura Ann in 1969, and Amy Lorraine in 1970. After her children became teenagers, Judy and Patrick divorced and she decided to rejoin the workforce. She took several secretarial positions in the following years including Shea Concrete and Olin Chemical, both in Wilmington, MA; and even worked part time at Dairy Mart in North Reading and Lord & Taylor in Burlington during the holidays. Her most important job however, was to keep her kids in their childhood home so they could stay in North Reading schools. She even turned down a promotion that would move the family to Connecticut. But she was successful in holding on to the house on Haverhill Street, which in turn cultivated strong ties and life-long friends for her and especially her daughters to this day.

Judy's life became enriched when she became a grandmother in 1994 when Kaitlyn Crosby was born.  And again when Timothy Henry and Mark Patrick were born in 2005 and 2006.  This was now the most important part of Judy's life and she would remind them often how she loved them "more and longer".   Not long after her grandchildren were born, Judy moved to Hudson NH and she retired from the Respiratory Department at New England Medical Center in Boston.  From there, she moved to Dracut where she spent her remaining years and was always there to support and love her daughters and her grandchildren.

Mom often quoted a friend stating "the best gift you can give is a memory".  Thank you for the memories, Mom.  Love you more.
