Judith Patricia (Carlson) Spada

Judith Patricia Spada (Carlson), 80, passed away at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA on December 1, 2020 after a brief illness.

Born on June 13, 1940 in Waterbury, CT.,  Judy was the daughter of the late Margaret Frances (Shamber) and John Alden Carlson.  

Judy grew up in the Lake Winnemaug area of Watertown, CT and graduated from the Waterbury School of Nursing in 1961. She gave up her passion for nursing to raise her children and began a long career as a small business owner. She was a partner in an Amway Distributorship, was the proprietor of Pete’s Restaurant and Dairy Bar in Pomfret, CT and the Fuzzy Cow Gifts and Gourmet Delights in Hudson, NH.  In between business adventures she was a caregiver and a professional crafter.

Best known for her positivity and can-do attitude, Judy loved animals, and cared deeply about nature.  She enjoyed playing the organ and piano.  A member of the Westford Women’s Bowling League until she retired, she was also a communicant of St Patrick’s Church in Pelham, NH and was a grateful friend of Lois W.

Judy suffered from Alzheimer’s later in life and her family will be forever grateful to all her caregivers.

She is survived by her daughter Michele and her husband Thomas of Pelham, NH, son Peter of Henderson, NV, daughter Joele of Las Vegas, NV, her beloved grandchildren Joel, Joseph, Anne, Leo, John, and Peter, great grandchildren and many cherished nephews and nieces.  She held a special place in her heart for so many who shared her journey. She now joins her parents, sister Melody, brother John, Jr. and daughter Wendy Jo in heaven.

Judy will be buried with her family in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury, CT in a private ceremony. E-condolences at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
