Lawrence Rose Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Lawrence M. “Larry” Rose, 72, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 11, 2025, at his home.

Born in Malden, MA, November 14, 1952, the son of the late Manuel L. and the late Eleanor (Almeida) Rose, he attended Everett grammar schools and graduated from Everett High School in the class of 1970. He then enrolled at Bryant and Stratton College, earning an associate degree in Computer Science.

Before retirement, Larry worked as a payroll accountant for Home Health Visiting Nurse Association based in Lawrence, MA.

His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He spent a lot of time vacationing in Maine, often walking Marginal Way in Ogunquit. He cherished his family vacation memories. He loved spending time at the beach with his family and stopping at Perkins Cove Candies. At home, Larry took great pride with the upkeep of his home and enjoyed a passion for gardening. Larry shared his gardening passion with his wife and together they created beautiful flower beds attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Larry loved celebrating holidays and would set up beautiful light displays. He loved Halloween and Christmas and would go over the top with his decorations both inside and out. He got great joy in seeing the magic in his granddaughters' excitement over the holiday decorations. He enjoyed Christmas most of all watching holiday movies with his family and listening to music on his jukebox. Around the holidays you could find him listening to classic Christmas songs on his 45's. He had a passion for collecting Lionel trains that originated as a childhood hobby. He had a large model railroad display that took up his entire basement that gave him great joy to design and build. He continued to buy trains until his last day. It was truly a lifetime passion.

He was the loving husband of Cheryl L. (Moore) Rose, who survives him. Besides his wife, Larry is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Meranda and her husband Daniel of Salem, NH; two granddaughters, Gemma Rose Meranda and Charlotte Shine Meranda, both of Salem, NH; a sister, Kathleen Rose and her husband Robert Chung of Davis, CA; two nephews, David Chung of Davis, CA, and Matthew Chung and his wife Michelle of San Jose, CA; and his beloved dogs, Lily and Daisy.
