Linwood Pitts Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Linwood A. “Lenny” Pitts, Sr., 83, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

He was the loving husband for over 58 years of Donna L. (Ducharme) Pitts, who survives him.

Born in East Boston, MA, March 3, 1942, the son of the late George and the late Florence (Whelan) Pitts, he attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School in the class of 1961.

Lenny enlisted in the United States Air Force the same year he graduated high school and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a weapons mechanic.

After he was released from active duty and honorably discharged in 1965, Lenny enrolled at Coyne Electrical and Technical School and earned an electrical certificate in 1968.

Lenny spent more than 40 years working in the industrial machine industry before he retired from The Battery Shop of New England in 2012.

Lenny dedicated many years volunteering in the Town of Pelham as a Little League coach, Basketball Coach and with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  To this day, people in their 50s will reminisce about having him as a coach.

Lenny was a member of the Pelham VFW and the American Legion Post 100. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending his mornings with friends at McDonalds in Pelham and spending his days tinkering on his classic cars.

Besides his wife, Donna, Lenny is survived by a son, Linwood A. Pitts, Jr., and his partner Jenniffer McConnell of Sanbornville, NH; two daughters, Jennifer A. Pitts and Betsy J. Pelletier and her husband Patrick Boucher both of Pelham, NH; four grandchildren, Nicole Pitts, Zachary Pitts, Ashley Pelletier, and Tyler Pelletier as well as his bonus grandchildren, Lake, MJ, Thomas, and Kerrigan Boucher as well as former daughter-in-law, Claire Pitts of Dover, NH and a multitude of nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his brothers George, Henry and James Pitts.
