Martin C. Socha
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend;
Martin Socha, 58, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 16, 2021 surrounded by his family at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH after a month long battle with Covid.
He was the loving husband for over 33 years of Paula M. (Bedard) Socha, who survives him.
Born in Laurel, Maryland, January 9, 1963, the son of the late Wladyslaw “Walter” and the late Frances (Kurpaska) Socha, he attended Andover, MA schools and was a graduate of Andover High School. He went on to attend Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical School where he was trained as a machinist.
Currently, Martin was employed at Haigh – Farr in Bedford, NH as a machinist.
Martin enjoyed snowmobiling and 4 wheeling trips to Pittsburg, NH with family and friends as well as camping, hunting and fishing. A well-known cook among those close to him, Martin enjoyed cooking for family, and at community events.
He was also a member of St. Patrick Church in Pelham and the Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife, Martin is survived by a daughter Michelle M. Lemay and her husband Evan of Pelham, NH; a son Michael J. Socha and his fiancée Amanda Malony of Manchester, NH; three grandchildren Eva, Melanie and EJ Lemay; two sisters Paula DeProspero and her husband AL of Enfield, CT and Tonia Socha of Ayer, MA; two brothers Joe Socha and his wife Becky of Columbia, MD and Andrew Socha and his wife Laura of Westford, MA; and his many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Friends may come to his Memorial Visitation at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD in PELHAM from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday May 21, 2021. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Funeral Mass at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM (Please meet at church) Saturday morning at 11:30 A.M. (All state required social distancing procedures will be observed including the wearing of masks upon entrance into the funeral home and church.) followed by his Committal Prayers at the Gibson Cemetery.
