Michael J. Ramalho
Beloved husband, father, brother, son-in-law, nephew, and uncle;
Michael J. Ramalho, 62, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
He was the loving husband for over 35 years of Catherine (Heliotis) Ramalho, who survives him.
Michael was born in Lowell, MA, on April 12, 1962, the son of the late James and Rita A. (Guthrie) Ramalho. He attended Lowell Public Schools and graduated from the Greater Lowell Vocational High School's class of 1980 with a diploma in H.V.A.C.
Following high school, he served as a member of the United States Marine Corps, followed by six years in the reserves.
Prior to his retirement, Michael was a Lineman for Verizon in Dracut, MA for 25 years. Previously, he worked at Raytheon in Lowell, MA during his service in the Marines. This is where he met his wife Catherine, whom he loved dearly.
Besides his wife, Cathy, he is survived by their son Nicholas J. Ramalho; their daughter, Ashley A. Ramalho, and Hunter Pelletier all from Pelham, NH. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his sister, Sandra J. Saltamartini, and her partner Bill Siff of East Hampstead, NH; his brother, Stephen P. Ramalho, and his wife Donna of Dracut, MA; his mother-in-law, Suzanne and the late Louis N. Heliotis of North Andover, MA; a sister-in-law, Ann Marie Stelman and her husband Michael of Goffstown, NH. Michael had four nieces: Kara, Lauren, Julie, and Emily. Michael was a friend to so many people throughout all aspects of life, everyone who knew him loved him.
Michael was a member of the Lowell Elks and IBEW Local 2321. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed participating in and watching sports events. His favorite annual tradition was participating in the Fat Man Triathlon since the first one in 1988. Many of his favorite memories involved sports including one of his favorite moments attending the Patriots vs Dolphins game in Miami with his closest family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his family each year to a new island, the Bahamas was his favorite. He adored date nights with Cathy on Wednesday nights at Margaritas. You could find him listening to country music, Toby Keith was one of his favorites. Michael never said no to a good time and was the first person there whenever asked. He lit up every event he attended. He will be missed greatly.
His Committal services were held privately for the family. There will be Celebration of Life on Friday, September 13th at 5:30 PM at the US Bunting Club of 449 Boylston ST, Lowell, MA 01852.
