Rita J. (Bergeron) St. Onge

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt;

Rita J. (Bergeron) St. Onge, 89, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife for 52 years of Henry P. St. Onge, who predeceased her in 2007.

Born in Lowell, MA, May 14, 1936, the daughter of the late Henri and the late Bernadette (Touzin) Bergeron, she attended St. Joseph’s School in Lowell.

Prior to her retirement, Rita worked as an assembler at Wang Laboratories for many years. Rita also worked for the Lowell Public School’s Cafeteria for many years. 

An active member of St. Patrick’s Church, she participated in TEC- Teens Encountering Christ, a retreat which fosters spiritual growth through the Paschal Mystery and St. Patrick’s Grammar School. Rita was also a member of her local Red Hat Society.

Rita is survived by two daughters, Diane B. Capps and her husband Thomas E., III, of Pelham, NH, and Linda L. Pace and her husband Robert G. of Pelham, NH; four grandchildren, Tyler J. Masson of Londonderry, NH, Corey H. Pace of Pelham, NH, Jared D. Masson of Londonderry, NH, and Sarah E. Capps of Pelham, NH; five great grandchildren, Ellie Pace, Jack Pace, Eleanor Masson, Charles Masson, and Natalie Masson; a brother, Roger Bergeron and his wife Joan of Lowell, MA; a sister-in-law, Sandra Bergeron of Westford, MA, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Cathy F. (Masson) Chatel, grandmother of the late Michael R. Pace and the sister of the late Gerard Bergeron, Raymond Bergeron, Simone Lausier, Janet Lausier, Annette Shaughnessy, and Roland Bergeron.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 11 NASHUA RD. in PELHAM from 4 to 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday morning March 11, 2026, at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM at 11:00 A.M.  Her burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery. E-condolences/directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
