Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle

Ronald E. Sousa, 69, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH.

He was the loving husband for over 47 years of Susan E. (Greenhalge) Sousa, who survives him. Their love was meant to last a lifetime. 

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, August 20, 1956, the son of the late Edward and the late Florence (Silveria) Sousa, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1975.

A master plumber and gas fitter with Union Local 12 in Boston for most of his life, Ron also was the co-founder and owner of Kozy Kollar Manufacturing in Pelham, NH for the last several decades.

Ron led a very active life which included boating at Lake Winnipesaukee and on the Atlantic ocean, woodworking and playing hockey. He was an avid motorcyclist, his first vehicle was a motorcycle. He was also an active member of the Merrimack Valley Trail Riders, and this brought him great joy. Maintaining the trails, raising money for charity, and being out with the guys was something he loved. In his spare time he also enjoyed restoring old corvettes.

However, his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. "Papa" as he was affectionately known, was always up for fun. Telling tall tales, making forts, ice skating, paddle boarding; Papa could keep up with it all.

Besides his wife Susan, Ron is survived by his two daughters Angela M. Sousa and her partner Dr. Gary Vanasse of Wellesley, MA and Audrey E. Sousa of Pelham; two grandchildren Evelyn R. Chrisemer of Pelham and Alexander H. Vanasse of Wellesley; two step-grandchildren Nicholas Vanasse and Andrew Vanasse of Wellesley; three sisters Lynne Sousa of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathleen Stratton and her husband Edward of Blufton, SC and Robin Sousa and her husband Jean-Paul Brouillard of Manchester, NH, and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Nancy Sousa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday December 13, 2025, at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM at 11 o’clock. (Please meet at Church).
